Although the global economy is emerging from the collapse triggered by COVID-19, the recovery is likely to be subdued, and global GDP is projected to remain well below its pre-pandemic trend for a prolonged period. In this event, the World Bank Group will present its flagship semi-annual Global Economic Prospects report that examines global economic developments, with a special focus on emerging market and developing economies.
The Global Economic Prospects semi-annual report conducts detailed and in-depth analysis that will be delivered at a critical point for many countries. The race to roll out Covid-19 vaccinations will have a significant effect on determining the pace of economic recovery for countries still being challenged by the virus, whilst some of the greatest consequences for developing economies looks set to continue for many years to come. The report will touch on these and many other forecasts as it assesses the global outlook for growth and stability around the world.
This event will be held on Zoom. The discussion will aim to answer as many questions as possible - Members are free to email questions in advance
