In 2013, British Expertise ran the first ever UK trade mission to Tajikistan. Since then, Tajikistan has made steady progress in growing its economy, decreasing poverty rates, and more. The World Bank suggests that between 2000 and 2020, the economy has grown at an average rate of 7% GDP per year.
Tajikistan’s development strategy sets a target of increasing incomes 3.5 times by 2030 and reducing poverty by half. According to the World Bank, this target is achievable if Tajikistan gives the private sector greater opportunities for investment and job creation.
Join British Expertise International in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the United Kingdom and the Tajik-British Chamber of Commerce to get a brief on the political and economic situation and an overview of current export and investment opportunities in Tajikistan, ahead of a planned UK trade mission in the second half of 2021.
This is an opportunity for British exporters and investors to meet a range of influential stakeholders, learn about current opportunities around their sectors of interest, and learn about our preliminary plans for the Scoping Trade Mission. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and make recommendations, and the outcomes of our discussion will inform and support Trade Mission planning.
This event will be held on Microsoft Teams.
The discussion will aim to answer as many questions as possible - Members are free to email questions in advance.
