Join us as we host His Excellency Mr Dominic Williams MBE, British Ambassador to Cambodia. This event is due to take place at our offices at 23 Grafton Street. Please arrive at 9:30am for a 10:00am start!
Throughout the past couple of years, there has been a visible increased cooperation between the UK and Cambodia, primarily focused on promoting economic cooperation, supporting sustainable development, and strengthening diplomatic ties.
Economically, the UK seeks to increase trade and investment in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, climate resilience and education. Additionally, the UK supports Cambodia's efforts in sustainable development, particularly in areas like education, healthcare, and environmental conservation. Diplomatic engagement emphasises good governance, human rights, and regional stability, contributing to Cambodia's development and integration into the global economy.
We are delighted to welcome His Excellency Dominic Williams MBE, who will lead a round table discussion covering the market opportunities available to British based organisation in infrastructure, climate resilience, education and international development.
During the round table, we aim to gather insights from our members regarding their specific interests in Cambodia's key stakeholders and on-the-ground engagement. Additionally, we plan to discuss the potential for a trade mission in Q4, co-led by the FCDO/DBT Cambodia and BEI. This mission would focus on exploring opportunities for collaboration and investment, enhancing trade relations, and supporting sustainable development initiatives within Cambodia.
Dominic Williams is the current British Ambassador to Cambodia.
He joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in 2005 and has previously worked in the Embassy to France; the High Commission to Sri Lanka and the Maldives; the Embassy to Peru and the High Commission to Nigeria. Dominic was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2011 in recognition of his work during the Sri Lankan conflict. He has worked on UN Peacekeeping, the Syria conflict and consular issues while serving in London.
Dominic speaks English, French, Khmer and Spanish.
