Resilience has long been a core aspect of the Built Environment, but now with the increasing impact of climate change, this topic has gathered a renewed significance amongst businesses and policymakers. Resilience in the face of climate change must be able to anticipate, prepare for and respond to extreme – and sometimes hazardous – disturbances related to climate. This event will provide attendees with an insight into the Built Environment Working Group’s unique framework for contextualising the UK export offer in this area, whilst also showcasing the latest projects being delivered by UK exporters.
We are delighted to be hosting panelists from Mace, Options and Ricardo, who will be presenting on a variety of sectors, such as reconstruction, retrofitting and health. Each panel member will be showcasing the concept of resilience through their own field of UK expertise and the projects undertaken by their organisations.
Alongside this, the BEI Built Environment Working Group have collaborated to create a report on the Built Environment, and later this year will be launching a new chapter, with a core focus on resilience. As a precursor to the launch, this event will also feature insights into our plans for re-launching the current Built Environment report by adding a new chapter – focused solely on resilience.
