Following on from the conclusion of COP26, we are delighted to bring you an expert panel that will breakdown the key outcomes of the conference and provide an insight to what this means to UK private sector organisations going forward. Members will have a chance to hear from some of the leading experts, find out what their key takeaways from the conference were and have a chance to ask the critical questions on the effects and what this means for the global approach to tackling climate change and UK plc.
The COP26 event has been a key focal point for many stakeholders in the fight against climate change. Since the landmark Paris Agreement was signed in signed in April 2016, many have raised expectations that COP26 can continue to build on some of the legally binding mechanisms that were first introduced. For the first time in the modern era, 191 states ratified a deal which included a number Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC’s) that required all signatories to actively reduce their carbon emissions and limit the global temperature to a maximum of 2.0 degrees Celsius. COP26 represents a significant opportunity to improve on these and provide a diplomatic platform for leaders to set more ambitious targets that bring us more towards the target. Join us as our expert panel breakdown the conclusions of the summit and whether the high expectations have been met.
Join us as we conclude our climate event series that looks to summarise all of the COP26 outcomes, establish what comes next and have your questions answered.
