Minister Graham Stuart MP joins British Expertise International for an online discussion on the upcoming opportunities for British business looking to trade overseas.
Having been appointed as Minister of Exports in February 2020, the Minister’s responsibilities cut across a wide range of the Department for International Trade’s functions including export promotion and policy, UK Export Finance and COP26.
This event will provide members with a direct opportunity to discuss and engage with the Minister at one of the most critical periods in Britain’s exporting history. As the UK leaves the European Union at the beginning of 2021, the British government will assume a greater ability to determine their trade policy as it attempts to increase exports to 35% of GDP by 2030. Our discussion with the Minister will provide BEI members with key information that will allow them to take full advantage of this change and the Global Britain agenda.
The increasing importance of sustainable trade and the COP26 climate summit in November means that it is paramount for British businesses to be able to react and work alongside the latest government environment strategy. With post-Brexit trade policy looking to further integrate the SDG goals and sustainable trade, it’s important for members to be able to interact and engage with government on these central issues.
This discussion provides members with the latest strategic thinking from government as they look to develop trade policy that is both beneficial for people and the environment.
This event will be held on Microsoft Teams. The discussion will aim to answer as many questions as possible - Members are free to email questions in advance
