We are delighted to be hosting colleagues from the UK Department of Business and Trade based at the British High Commission in Kenya for a deep dive session on the opportunities for UK businesses in infrastructure, energy and climate. The event will provide an overview of the latest pipeline of opportunities in the country, and the support available to British companies.
Our speakers will discuss government priorities and plans across infrastructure, renewable energy and climate change mitigation and adaptation in Kenya, and highlight some of the instruments available to support UK organisations in business development and FDI.
Kenya is one of the UK’s largest trading partners and the UK is one of the largest foreign investors in Kenya, resulting in a positive landscape for UK businesses. This great relationship presents opportunities for both countries to expand trade, enhance investment and foster economic growth.
The development of Kenya is critical for regional stability, the achievement of global climate ambitions and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Kenya was one of the first countries to ban single use plastics and to set targets on net zero by 2050, as well as 100% renewable energy by 2030 and universal clean cooking by 2028.
In the infrastructure space, there is a wealth of opportunities for British organisations across water, transport and renewable energy.
