Join us from 16:30 for a 17:00 start as we welcome Jonathan Knott, DIT’s Trade Commissioner for Latin America and the Caribbean for an in person briefing on the exports opportunities for UK-based businesses across the region. This will be followed by a networking drinks reception featuring regional flavours and cocktails from 18:00 to 19:30pm (GMT).
Jonathan will provide an overall update on the region and its priorities, together with a focus upon areas of opportunity for UK-based businesses across the key areas, including Sustainable Infrastructure, Climate Adaptation, Education, Healthcare and Food & Drink, to name but a few.
The LATAC region represents a market equivalent to the third largest economy in the world, after the USA and China. Total trade in goods and services between the UK and the region totals £26.1 billion.
The region is comprised of 42 countries with a total population of over 663 million people. LATAC has a combined GDP of almost US$6 trillion and a GDP per capita forecasted to grow at a 2.5% per annum rate through 2024. With a growing middle class and expanding economies, this region offers many opportunities in a variety of sectors for UK companies.
In addition to the comments from Joanthan Knott, we will also hear from experts who will detail the specific challenges and requirements to do business successfully in LATAC and hear directly from organisations that have built successful businesses and relationships in the region.
