According to UNICEF, over 23 million students are enrolled in pre-primary, primary and secondary school education which renders Egypt’s education system as the biggest across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In 2017, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) announced their transformation for the education system by 2030 which featured a commitment to expand digital learning across the country and move towards skills-based learning.
There exist opportunities in increasing students accessing to education particularly where there are gaps in enrolment in rural areas, quality education which includes Teacher Training and Professional Development programmes as well as quality Infrastructure. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is also a key priority to address the skills gap and meet labour market demands. Finally, Higher Education and Research is highlighted as a main key enabler, necessary to develop Egypt’s skilled workforce and support Egypt in emerging as a knowledge-based economy.
The DBT Education team in Egypt will cover the top education priorities in the country by sub-sector, the future market trends, their pipeline of opportunities available to UK education providers, and recent UK business success stories.
