The UK is well known for its expertise in education consultancy services: in much of the world “British education” is synonymous with quality. This group enables better collaborative engagement between members, HMG and other key stakeholders. The BEI Education Working Group is currently working on follow-up actions after the launch of our recent Education report on System Strengthening in May2024.
Centred on enhancing the system resilience of international Ministries of Education, this report provides a thorough examination of the current conditions and obstacles within the global education sector in a post-pandemic landscape. It spotlights the capabilities of BEI members in effectively addressing these challenges. The primary objective of the report is to showcase the collective expertise within the membership, emphasising the contributions to broader SDGs beyond SDG4. Additionally, it serves as a resource, presenting a range of options for governments interested in establishing close collaborations with British education providers.
The International education sector in the UK includes a broad range of actors, from larger companies with broad experience and expertise to smaller organisations with niche expertise. BEI’s education members work across all areas of education including K12 services, Direct-to-Government education reform, Higher Education, Edtech and Skills and Training.
The Education Working Group was initially setup against a backdrop of a global health pandemic in 2020 and were faced with anew challenge of responding to the COVID-19 crisis’ devastating impact on education and lost learning for students around the world. Today, UK education providers will be tasked with thinking about how they can continue to deliver against the priorities for international education as we move into a ‘post-COVID world.'
BEI can play a supportive role to members, enabling sharing of information and experiences, facilitating advocacy on relevant issues and challenges with the relevant HMG departments.
BEI Working Group meetings, recordings and slides are only available to working group members.
