The BEI Girls’ Education Working Group meets on a monthly basis, and exists to create shared learning in gender sensitive programming and engagement with Girls’ Education-specific stakeholders.
This subgroup was convened by members of the BEI Education Working Group to facilitate knowledge sharing, support members in gaining a better understanding of the Girls’ Education space, and drive BEI events and activities focusing on Girls’ Education.
The group is composed of leading education delivery organisations and consultancies, including a range of experts in delivering gender sensitive programming. Several members have been engaged in the Girls’ Education Challenge since the programme’s start. The formation of the BEI Girls Education Subgroup is grounded in this technical expertise from BEI member organisations who are keen to share knowledge and create new partnerships to support gender equal outcomes globally.
At this meeting, we are delighted to welcome George McLaughlin, Girls Education Programmes Team Leader at the FCDO, to: learn about his department's current priorities, discuss further progress on new structures and ways of working at FCDO, get further detail on the roll-out of the Girls Education Action plan, and how FCDO anticipates private sector supplier organisations might play a role collectively as a body.
